Jay Sizemore

Jay Sizemore is a partner at Sizemore Burns & Gillmore, in Newton Kansas. Jay has been an attorney since 2001. After 4 years of government practice, where he worked both as a criminal prosecutor and later a defense attorney, he made the decision to join Sizemore Burns & Gillmore, and continue his career in private practice. Jay’s background as a prosecutor and criminal defense attorney gave him valuable experience in the courtroom, where he learned how to try cases.

Jay handles a variety of cases, however he specializes in helping people who have been injured in automobile accidents, or other personal injuries; in helping creditors with collections; as well as criminal defense and family law.

Jay graduated from Kansas State University with a degree in Psychology in 1997, and then attended Washburn Law School in Topeka where he graduated in 2001. Jay’s family is full of lawyers. He is the third generation of “Sizemore” to Work at Sizemore, Burns & Gillmore. He follows in the footsteps of his Grandfather, Herb Sizemore, and his Uncle, Mike Sizemore. Jay’s Dad, Hadley Sizemore, is an attorney in McPherson, Kansas, his wife Erin Sizemore is an attorney for SRS in Wichita, and his uncle Patrick Sizemore is an attorney in California.

Jay is licensed to practice law in Kansas State and Federal Court. Jay has tried over 35 jury trials, hundreds of bench trials, and has argued several cases in front of the Kansas Court of Appeals.
